Filmmaker Makes Her Directorial Debut at the Halloween Horror Picture Show
Lynne Hansen’s short horror comedy CHOMP will make its world premiere Sunday, October 19 at 12:00 as part of the Halloween Horror Picture Show at the Tampa Pitcher Show in Tampa, Florida. The movie is about a demented woman who is determined to prove to the world that she’s captured a real zombie—even if he isn’t one.
Written, produced and directed by Lynne Hansen, CHOMP was shot entirely on location in Tampa and St. Petersburg. It features veteran stage actors Susan O’Gara (Conversations With…) and Kyle Porter (Jobsite’s production of Night of the Living Dead), as well as King of the B Movies, Joel D. Wynkoop and four-year-old newcomer Ellah Durliat. All will be on hand for the premiere, along with select members of the crew, autographing complimentary posters and chatting with independent horror fans.
With so many horror-themed Halloween events going on at this time of year, there were many places where Hansen could have premiered her directorial debut. So why did she choose this one?

“I’m a fan—of the event and the genre. I’ve been to every single Halloween Horror Picture Show since they started back in 2003,” Hansen said. “I love the events Rick Danford puts together.”
“CHOMP is one of the most highly anticipated short films in recent memory,” said Halloween Horror Picture Show founder and programming coordinator Rick Danford.
Sharing your film with the world for the first time might be a terrifying prospect for some, but not for Hansen. “There’s the home-town advantage playing here,” Hansen said. “So many wonderful people helped bring CHOMP to life here in the Tampa Bay area. If only a small percentage of them show up and bring a friend, we’ll pack the house!”
The Halloween Horror Picture Show plays at the Tampa Pitcher Show Sunday, October 19th from 12 pm to 5 pm. In addition to CHOMP, the schedule includes 11 short horror films and the feature “Die, Die, Delta Pi”.
